The Lowell Neighborhood is a 58-acre mixed-use development surrounding the historic Lowell School in downtown Colorado Springs. As the city’s original Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND), Lowell represents a unique opportunity for families and individuals to live in a walkable, community-oriented urban setting. Since its inception in 1999, the neighborhood has evolved into a vibrant district that blends historic preservation with new construction, offering a mix of residential, commercial, and civic spaces.

Compass TDG has played an integral role in shaping the Lowell Neighborhood over the past two decades. From early master planning to individual building designs, Compass TDG has contributed to numerous projects—some completed, some still in progress, and others currently in design. The firm’s long-standing involvement reflects a deep commitment to the neighborhood’s vision and values. Located just blocks from Compass TDG’s office, Lowell remains a daily inspiration and a living example of thoughtful urban design.

As a model for sustainable infill development, the Lowell Neighborhood continues to promote density, diversity, and connectivity in Colorado Springs. Its success has helped catalyze further redevelopment in the downtown area, and Compass TDG remains actively engaged in its ongoing transformation.
