Compass TDG Architecture partnered with Ruggles Green (now Bellagreen) to design a series of restaurant locations rooted in the belief that each space should respond authentically to its surrounding neighborhood rather than follow a one-size-fits-all prototype. While unified by a shared commitment to sustainability, community, and hospitality, each location was thoughtfully tailored to its context, resulting in distinct dining environments that strengthen indoor–outdoor connections and enhance the guest experience. This approach has contributed to the brand’s recognition through multiple hospitality awards and continues to guide the evolution of the Bellagreen identity.
The Sugar Land location, the largest in the portfolio, exemplifies the brand’s leadership in sustainable design as one of the first Certified Green Restaurants in Houston. Located within an existing retail shell, the project emphasized responsible material selection, with interior finishes chosen for their ability to be recycled, reused, or salvaged. Multiple dining zones were created indoors and outdoors using half-height banquettes to define space while maintaining visual openness and circulation. Custom steel shading devices cover two outdoor patios, including a rear courtyard featuring Compass TDG–designed “seating bowls” that encourage conversation. Large folding doors further blur the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing the restaurant to fully open to the outdoors.
