Fox Run Nature Center

Civic

Colorado Springs, CO

Rooted in landscape, story, and community, the Northern Nature Center was envisioned as a place where architecture deepens the relationship between people and the land. Compass TDG Architecture led the project with a multidisciplinary team deeply connected to Colorado Springs and the site’s ecological and cultural context.

Guided by prior feasibility studies, interpretive planning, and inclusive stakeholder engagement, the design emerged through a series of exploratory concepts—each testing how building, site, and narrative could work together. These ideas were refined into a singular vision that balances environmental stewardship, visitor experience, and interpretive clarity.

The final concept integrates architecture and landscape with low‑impact site strategies, sustainable systems, and expressive forms that frame views, light, and movement through the forested setting. Designed for public engagement and long‑term resilience, the Northern Nature Center is both a destination and a quiet extension of the land itself.
